Presolar O- and C-anomalous grains in unequilibrated ordinary chondrite matrices

Presolar grains are trace components in chondrite matrices. Their abundances and compositions have been systematically studied carbonaceous chondrites but rarely situ other major classes. We conducted a NanoSIMS isotopic search for presolar with O- C-anomalous the matrices of unequilibrated ordinary Semarkona, Meteorite Hills 00526, Northwest Africa 8276. The even most primitive aqueously altered and/or thermally metamorphosed, destroying their grain populations to varying extents. In addition randomly placed isotope maps, we targeted recently reported, relatively pristine Semarkona matrix areas better explore original inventory grains. all samples, found total 122 O-anomalous (silicates + oxides), 79 SiC grains, 22 (organics, graphites). Average matrix-normalized 151 ppm 53 56 55 (O-anom.), (SiC) 3 (carb.) MET 00526 12 15 1 NWA C-ungrouped chondrites, O C composition similar, despite likely differences chondrite-formation time nebular location. These results suggest homogenous distribution dust across chondrite-forming reservoirs solar nebula. Secondary asteroidal processes mainly responsible between within highlighting need identify target such studies.
